But as Mia moves forward, she’s faced with obstacles she couldn’t have foreseen. The biggest of them lies within the mystery of Ethan Fitzgerald; a man who affects her like no other, but who she should avoid pursuing, at all costs.
On a mission himself, Ethan Fitzgerald didn’t care who he pissed off on his road to fulfill his mother’s dying wish. He relied on himself, and was closed off to the world around him – until Mia Ryan walked through his door. Normally one to avoid messy emotions, Ethan’s world is turned upside down by Mia, and he can’t seem to get enough of her. There are lines you can cross that will change the course of your life forever …

A course of heat ran through my entire body. I shook my head – Ethan was lurking around here somewhere. I peered over my shoulder and sure enough, there he was, staring at me unashamedly. My rational thoughts started to fall by the wayside as I soaked in every ounce of him. I took in his casual stance as his back rested against the wall with a leg kicked up.
He was breathtaking, and on display like a supermodel. His fitted jeans were hugging his body in all the right places. My eyes trailed up his sculpted chest. His white button-up shirt had a black pattern that weaved its way up the right side. I wondered what was underneath that intricate design. I had seen glimpses of tattoos that started at his wrists and stretched up to his elbows. My thoughts drifted past what his tattoos were and on to seeing his naked body. When Ethan sauntered closer to my desk, my pulse sped up as my stomach clenched tightly together.
Shit. I'm slipping. Why does he have to be so damn hot?
His eyes smoldered as he surveyed my body. I raised an eyebrow and the grin that curled at the edge of his lips transformed into a cocky smile. Unable to stop the rising heat, I flushed embarrassingly. I turned around, securing my purse to leave.
“I'm going to call it a day if that is OK,” I muttered, with my eyes to the floor.
If I stared at him any longer, I'd have some serious problems. I'd fallen back on track with my purpose here. It was less difficult for me to separate it. I kept the guilt at bay and remained focused on getting more information for Harrison. Nothing new presented itself, but I was at least in the mindset that made it easier for me to be here.
I'd be back to square one if I had a conversation with Ethan. There was no way in hell I was letting that happen. It was bad enough that I had no ability to prevent the blushing when it occurred, so keeping my eyes to the ground was the best idea for me.
My cheeks would not be the only body part of me on fire if I stole another peek at him.
“Yes, of course. I hope you have a great weekend.” Ethan paused for a second before asking, “Anything fun planned for the evening?”
Ethan pulled his hands out of his pockets and placed his thumbs through his belt loops. His long fingers trailed down his thighs. My mouth went dry. I blinked to stop myself from mentally undressing him. I chastised myself for making the mistake of looking at him again – It was game over for me. My body ignited everywhere as I fell deeper into his eyes. I wished they'd tell me more about him, but they kept me in a trance more than anything else did.

When Micha broke her heart he didn't know how much he had really broken her. in a desperation to get back what was wrongfully taken from her she makes rash decisions that just might lead her down a road she isn't prepared to go.. no matter what she thinks she can handle.
When she meet Ethan who will be the key to getting her in to where she needs to be, her world is rocked to it core. he affects her in ways she didn't know existed. Oh Boy does that attraction make for an incredible read!!!

I will admit that the first 2 chapters had me thinking that boy is this girl messed up. Yeah she is totally going to end up with her lost love.... But when Ms. Koenig threw in the hottie of Ethan yeah my world was rocked right along with Mia's.
This book was intriguing, filled with emotion you can feel. The intensity of their passion comes burns through the pages as I found myself entranced with her words.
I cam now left with the wanting need for the next chapter in Mia and Ethan's story. I can't wait!!!

5 Fun Facts about Conflicted

1.  A recent review commented on the relationships that Mia has with her friends (Bri, Jackson, Trey, and Shane).  The reviewer was curious as to whether those characters were based on four of my closest friends, and if so, that I was ‘one lucky chick’.  The answer to that is yes!  The friendship between Mia and Bri is very similar to the relationship I have with my best friend.  The friendship’s Mia has with the boys is loosely based on the friendship I had with three of my closest guy friends in college.  My best friend and I lived with a group of our closest guy friends our junior year of college.  It was my most memorable year in college.  It’s a time I reflect on and feel so incredibly fortunate to have so many memories with some amazing people.
2.  I’m a very active person that loves trying new things.  In chapter fifteen, Ethan whisks Mia away for the day to help take her mind off things.  He takes her to the pier to spend a day out on the lake.  How Mia learns how to wakeboard was loosely based off when I learned how to wakeboard.  There was an incredibly handsome guy that taught me how to over the course of a summer.
3.  I wrote Conflicted out of order.  The middle came to me before the rest of the story did, and I went with it.  I wrote for nearly six months straight and inadvertently wrote three-fourths of Complicated with Conflicted.  After continuous requests from my closest girlfriends to read what I had, I finally shared a few chapters.  It was then that I realized that I had wrote two books at once.  As a result, I divided the two books and made some minor adjustments to Complicated to ensure the timeline remained accurate.
4.  Mia’s story has been with me for a very long time.  I was terrified to actually write it.  I had written on and off over the last ten years and it was always a version of Mia’s story.  My best friend gave me the push I needed to finally commit to writing a novel and to later publishing it.
5.  I’ve had several reviewers state that they felt like they were watching a movie or TV drama while reading Conflicted.  I can honestly say that part of my writing process is seeing the entire scene in my head prior to writing it down.  In doing so, I try to be as true to the moment as I possibly can be and hope that the setting and emotions hit the mark.
