My life had been no fairy tale. Actually, growing up, it had been something more like a nightmare, which is why I ended up so hard. When you don't want to hurt having the ability to be numb is your best defense mechanism. And for a long time all I was doing was existing.
Jag Steele, the lead singer of the international rock band Pandemic Sorrow, was the epitome of everything I despised: arrogant, entitled, but the thing I hated most about him was that he was an addict. Drugs had been the demon that had ruined everything in my life, and anyone who had a love affair with them pretty much made my stomach turn. It brought up memories I wanted to stay buried. Needless to say, I wasn't exactly a fan of Jag.
Funny thing is, people aren't always who you expect them to be. Never in a million years would I have thought the night I meet Jag would have any significance on the rest of my life, but it did.
I found out that sometimes something that screams utter destruction might actually be your saving grace.
Some people may say our story is too screwed up to be a romance, but for two broken people, we made the pieces fit together perfectly.
A past is a hard thing to outrun for some it is harder than others. For Roxy the physical scars were nothing compared to the emotional ones. Having lost everything to drugs and addiction she has shut herself down to feeling the joys of life and love. She never thought she would have to go through that pain of loving again, until she met Jag Steele.
Jag, is a ROCK GOD. Jag is the ultimate rocker, he has the swagger, he has the looks, he lives the fast life with the girls and, yes the drugs. He doesn't hide it either. He knows he's an addict, so if you love him you love him the way he is, until Roxy walked into his life.
Together they make the hollowness of their life disappear. They make life bearable for one another. Can it last? Can they overcome the darkness of their past and leave behind their coping crutches? Can Jag leave the trapping of his fame and live a normal life?
OMG ladies if you read any book this year you have to read this one! everything that you want is here~ Sorrow, romance, setbacks that will break your heart and yes Stevie gives us the all mighty HEA.
With all that Roxy has suffered she is stronger that who she thinks she is. Headstrong makes her the perfect person for Jag. I love her and admire her, her strength, her determination and her ability to forgive and love the man she knows will hurt her.
Jag is perfectly flawed. He knows who he wants to be, he knows who he needs to be and what he has to do to be that person he just needs the courage and the right reason to do it all. Roxy is his person.
I loved reading this book and this series. Everyone has to read Roxy, she will own your heart!
