Layla is running from fear of a life she never imagined for herself but knew would be hers in the end. So she did the only thing she could do, leave. But she has regret and even more fear. While in leaving she thought she was safe and kept her mind from the truth of her heart, she stayed away to long and lost the last connecting piece of her heart and family. She is back and realizes that she wasn't just running from the responsibility of her life in the MC club that she hates, but she ran because another was holding her heart and she just didn't want to admit it. Cullen was her home she just needs her head to be in tuned with her heart, because being back to her life in the club and having Cullen back still doesn't change that this life is dangerous.
Cullen has mixed feelings having his Lala back. Yes, he knows she cam back for sad reason and yes he has to protect her, but can he protect her from himself.
This book is exciting and very emotional. You have heart ache of the worst kind, you have danger of betrayal and yes you have triangles that form and create even more havoc. Most of all you have the chemistry between Cullen and Layla that is felt with through the pages of the book. Be warned there are some unresolved issues that will have you wanting to kick some butt. But for Cullen and Lala there is no unresolved issues just heat that will override the rest. An amazing ride, can't wait for the next installment of The Fire and Steel Series!
