Chloe has one plan for the future, and one plan only: the road. She’s made a promise to herself: don’t let anyone in, and don’t let anyone love her. She’s learned the hard way what happens if she breaks her rules. So she’s focused on being invisible and waiting until she can set out on the road—her dream of freedom, at least for a little while.
Blake Hunter is a basketball star who has it all—everything about him looks perfect to those on the other side of his protective walls. He can’t let anyone see the shattered pieces behind the flawless facade or else all his hopes and dreams will disappear.
One dark night throws Chloe and Blake together, changing everything for Blake. For Chloe, nothing changes: she has the road, and she’s focused on it. But when the so-called perfect boy starts to notice the invisible girl, they discover that sometimes with love, no one knows where the road may lead.
I love this a story of love and freedom and happiness, even when you don't really have those things in your life. This is a story of finding it all unexpectedly and letting fate grab you shake you up and say " Hey look at what I am giving you embrace it!"
Blake was happy running, well not happy, running made him numb to the his problems. Running made him forget and think about himself, you know clear his mind. Until he ran into Chloe. She consumed his mind and then consumed his heart and soul.
Chloe wanted to be invisible, until she wanted to just get wasted and let lose. The problem with that is you don't stay invisible when your wasted. Wasted made her crash into the person that would bring out into the light and make her seen.
I liked the way this story talked about plans, how no matter what you plan it doesn't always go the exactly the way you want it. That is exactly what happens to Blake and Chloe. Each had a path a road to take for their lives. Chloe to stay invisible and disappear. Blake's plan was not as clear as Chloe's but he had a decision to make and couldn't make it. Together they make their dreams come true by changing the road they had decided to take. They chose the road that would keep them together.
Beautifully written this story will make you cry and laugh and get truly pissed off. The ending is bittersweet but unexpected. You will gasp and them smile as you get to the final words.
