A Dark romance with a dark twist that will leave you with feelings of sadness, confusion and relief. This book is told in two different time periods it goes back and fourth as the story unravels giving you glimpses into Ash, Pearl and Dylans lives and their relationships. The author gives us a timeless friendship with bonds that are as strong as blood and the romantic relationship with bonds that are even stronger.
The confusion part of the story is when the story takes its dark turn leaving you with a mystery to solve. Ash’s love for Pearl is perfect, they are totally committed and passionate about one another. Dylan is Ash’e best friend who is equally committed to his friendship to both Ash and Pearl.
As this is the 3rd book in the series there is the connection between them all revolving around the bombing of the Boston Marathon and how it affects our characters. This story however has an added twist making it more suspenseful and tragic.
This book does give us and HEA although it was hard fought. The characters are endearing, Ash and Pearl show us that perseverance and strength can make you are survivor of the most horrific tragedies.
A must read this series was powerful and brought back memories of a time period in our history that was extremely frightening for me. All three books show us that strength, love and patients can be the best of rewards.
