The love and pain in this book rivals nothing. The strength and determine action rivals it all. Cheyenne is an inspiration, a polar of all good a Phoenix. Cut her not really hero because she is her own hero and strength. No, Cutler is her other half, her person. Their story is not sad because that isn't the way either of them see it and as you read along you learn that. You learn that, well you learn to look at a person and see just that a person . A person with feelings and needs a person that should never be judged by others. A person worthy of everything if only we look with our hearts.
Okay, it may seem like I am rambling but, once you read this book you will understand. My emotions are all over the place and I am not finding the rights words to describe how beautiful the characters in this story truly are. They grabbed my heart, making me a killer mama cheering their love on.
So I will say this, there has not been a book written by Tijan that has evoked an emotion so strong that I haven't had to look at myself and think. This book is no exception. The reality that many people have had to suffer through what Cheyenne did breaks my heart. Fiction comes from something real in our world and it take a great author to bring it to light in an impartial way. To Bri g to light the plight of those in need, those that should be seen in a better light. For those to SHINE. 
I feel the struggle of a kind that wanders into itself. I feel the fear of an anxiety attack. I feel the pain of your parent pushing you out. I feel it and I learn to overcome it, for Cheyene's.
