Alivia Monaghan had it all: a successful business, happy children, and her husband Jax Monaghan, the love of her life. Until the day Jax made a choice that altered their lives and crushed Alivia harder than a quarterback sack.
Football hero Jax Monaghan hadn’t had it easy in life. Despite his thriving football career he always destroyed everything beautiful he’s ever had. That was until he met his wife, Alivia, who had taught him what love and family was all about. But when he watches his wife fall apart due to his decisions, he’s reminded just what he is capable of – and he makes what he thinks is the ultimate sacrifice. Walking away.
When Jax returns home in order to be closer to his children, he can’t help but want to be closer with Alivia again as well. But the brutal reality of his choices keep knocking him back to the starting line. As the past threatens them further apart, Jax and Alivia are forced to line up together and play for the same team. Had their entire marriage been a trick play? Or was it simply just a false start into their happily ever after?NOW AVAILABLE:
The Book Fairy Reviews's Reviews
Love trust and everything in between that makes a marriage work, throw in some passion and a woman that is trying to ruin it all and you have a book that will have you riveted to the pages. I mean this book, sucked me in from the get go. I mean a hot football player falling for a woman and pledging his heart to her? Yeah total swoon. But this book is about so much more that just a beginning, no we have a middle with pain and hurtles to over come. We have a love that will not stay idle, we have a love that will fight for the other no matter what is thrown at them.
I cried. I felt their heat. I felt their love. I felt the passion for their family. Jax, making sure that his Liv was by his side.I loved the suspense ans the drama and more importantly I loved the feel of the book. Hi passion and love for Liv filled my heart with so much emotion that I still feel it in my heart as I am writing this review. So powerful and brilliantly written and an ending that brought more than just a smile to my face. It brought a smile to my heart. Jax and Liv are the perfect couple in all of their imperfectness, which is what makes this book even more special. It felt real. Real life.
